Malala is one of the major activists who were able to achieve many great things in the past few years. According to Malala.org, Malala Yousafzai is a Pakistani teen activist who made major changes in the world of inequality in education. Pakistan is a country where girls cannot have the same opportunities as a boy would have. However, her parents worked hard to give her every opportunity possible to learn and to be a girl in the society. When the Taliban banned girls from going to school and getting proper education in 2009, her educator and father, Ziauddin’s school is closed as well. Then Malala started fighting for her own rights, as well as other girl’s rights for education.

She started public speeches and campaigns, and got the Nobel Peace Prize. That made her a target of the Taliban, and the terrorist group shot her and her friends, in their school bus in 2012. Malala survived, and went to England to get an emergency surgery. After several procedures and surgeries, she recovered back to health. Malala got the Nobel Peace Prize for fighting for children’s and young teen’s rights in 2014. Malala is now twenty years old, and is still fighting for girl’s rights for education. She has met several prime ministers, presidents, and other important people around the world. Malala Yousafzai stated, “If one man can destroy everything, why can’t one girl change it?” Everything, the Nobel Peace Prize, the Malala fund, the progress the world has made on making education equal to both genders, would not be possible without Malala’s small start, speaking up.
